  A thread runs through these songs, with a recurring theme of disjointed family connections, lost and found love stories, regret, independence, and surrender.
  
  The album is bookended with the beginning and end of a three song trilogy that tells the story of a pair of social castoffs and their long term story arc, from the moment of their first meeting to what appears to be the eventual end of the line. Sandwiched in the middle of the album is the story of their triumphant reunion after years of separation at the hands of their families and the mechanisms of the state that worked so desperately to keep them apart. It's a story of patience, fortitude, resolve, and loyalty, and it's a lesson to everyone, miscreant or otherwise, on the importance of knowing who has your back.
  
  Drawing on musical inspirations from Nick Cave, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, the Sisters of Mercy, Leonard Cohen and all points in between, Dust Vultures is primarily the product of the musical mind of Peter Brentwood. It was originally conceived as a band-oriented concept album, but pivoted to a home recording project at the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dust Vultures is founded on the same values that bear our protagonists' story to its conclusion - that the end of the line isn't always the end, and the importance of recognizing that we can control the process but we can't control the destination.
  
  We're proud of this album. It occupied a good chunk of our brains for several years and it feels good to let it loose into the world. We hope it finds some kind of resonance with you.
  
  Please note that we barely settled on the final cover art, so included in the optional downloads are several alternate covers, as well as liner notes, a jewel case back panel, and a spine marker for you to print and use for a DIY cd pressing if that's your thing. Because maybe you're like us and you still miss the olden days when music was a thing you could touch and hold and read. (Note that files named "oppo" are intended to be printed on the opposite side of its partner file.) The pdf file should have everything you need, with the exception of the png file of the spine.
